Asset Readiness Lead
PEAK OCEAN PTE. LTD.
Peak Ocean is a premier global consultancy and project management partner specializing in the offshore, marine, and renewable energy sectors. Known for our commitment to asset integrity, operational excellence, and engineering safety, we deliver elite Project Management Teams (PMTs) that safeguard our clients' multi-million-dollar capital investments globally.
For an upcoming drilling rig construction and reactivation project in Singapore, Peak Ocean is assembling an owner-side PMT. We are seeking a highly experienced Asset Readiness Lead to serve as a Client Representative in this role.
The Role: Readiness Tracking & Cross-Discipline Coordination
As the Asset Readiness Lead, you will act strictly in the client's interest, ensuring the rig achieves mechanical completion, systems readiness, and operational handover milestones on time and within budget. You will sit across the Engineering Manager, Construction Manager, and Commissioning Manager's workstreams, providing the single source of truth on where the asset stands against its readiness targets — and ensuring the vessel is delivered with a complete, verified set of readiness documentation.
1. Readiness Tracking & Reporting
- Maintain the master asset readiness tracker/dashboard, consolidating status across mechanical, E&I, structural, piping, drilling, naval architecture, and subsea disciplines.
- Track System Completion / Mechanical Completion (MC) certificate closeout and punch-list burn-down across all systems.
- Own readiness KPI reporting (percentage complete, punch-list aging, systems walked down) for client and executive review.
2. Spares & Delivery Documentation Readiness
- Ensure the critical spares list is compiled, verified against vendor recommendations, and finalized as part of the asset's readiness documentation.
- Ensure the two-year operational spares list is compiled, costed, and confirmed with the Client ahead of vessel handover.
- Own the checklist of final delivery documents (spares lists, as-built registers, certification packages, and O&M manuals), confirming completeness before handover sign-off.
- Coordinate with vendor specialists to validate spares recommendations, lead times, and part-number accuracy for both critical and two-year spares.
3. Cross-Discipline Coordination
- Coordinate readiness reviews and walk-downs with discipline leads, flagging systems at risk of missing key milestones.
- Guide discussions with vendor specialists where equipment readiness or punch-item closeout requires vendor input or intervention.
4. Escalation & Planning Support
- Support pre-commissioning and commissioning readiness planning, ensuring system boundaries and sequencing are clearly defined.
- Escalate readiness risks to the Project Director/Project Manager with clear recovery recommendations, keeping schedule and budget impact explicit.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Marine, or related discipline).
- Minimum 10–12 years in offshore/marine project execution, with 3–5 years in an asset readiness, completions, or commissioning coordination role.
- Strong working knowledge of Mechanical Completion / System Completion processes, punch-list management systems, and spares planning (critical spares and operational spares provisioning).
- Experience with jack-up rig reactivation or newbuild readiness campaigns in a shipyard environment.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 or equivalent for readiness/completions tracking.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Strong attention to detail and data-driven reporting discipline.
