The Role: Client Representative — Electrical Engineer Commissioning
As part of the Peak Ocean PMT, you will act strictly in the client's interest, reporting to the Commissioning Manager. Your mission is to oversee the function testing, integration, and verification of the asset's electrical systems — power generation, high/medium voltage distribution, and Power Management Systems (PMS), ensuring each system is proven safe and fit for purpose ahead of handover.
- Review and execute commissioning procedures and function test records for electrical systems, verifying results against acceptance criteria.
- Witness power system energization, PMS function testing, and hazardous area (Ex) equipment verification.
- Coordinate with equipment vendors on switchgear, generator, and power distribution system commissioning.
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and system walk-downs for electrical equipment ahead of commissioning handover.
- Troubleshoot electrical system issues identified during commissioning, coordinating with the Engineering Manager's E&I team where root causes trace back to design or installation.
- Maintain commissioning records and system test documentation, supporting the Mechanical Completion (MC) certificate closeout process.
- Report commissioning progress and open items to the Commissioning Manager.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 6–9 years of experience in offshore/marine electrical systems commissioning or power system start-up.
- Strong working knowledge of power generation, high/medium voltage distribution, and Power Management Systems (PMS).
- Experience with energization procedures, function testing, and FAT.
- Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, and hazardous area ( ATEX/IECEx) standards is an advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail and clear, factual reporting skills.
