For an upcoming drilling rig construction and reactivation project in Singapore, Peak Ocean is assembling an owner-side PMT. We are seeking a highly experienced Instrument Engineer (Commissioning) to serve as a Client Representative in this role.

The Role: Client Representative — Instrument Engineer Commissioning

As part of the Peak Ocean PMT, you will act strictly in the client's interest, reporting to the Commissioning Manager. Your mission is to oversee the function testing, integration, and verification of the asset's instrumentation and control systems, ensuring each system is proven safe and fit for purpose ahead of handover.

  • Review and execute commissioning procedures and loop test records for instrumentation systems, verifying results against acceptance criteria.
  • Witness instrument loop checks, calibration verification, and safety-instrumented system (SIS) function testing.
  • Verify instrument calibration certificates and control system configuration ahead of system handover.
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and system walk-downs for instrumentation equipment ahead of commissioning handover.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation and control system issues identified during commissioning, coordinating with the Engineering Manager's E&I team were root causes trace back to design or installation.
  • Maintain commissioning records and system test documentation, supporting the Mechanical Completion (MC) certificate closeout process.
  • Report commissioning progress and open items to the Commissioning Manager.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Control Engineering.
  • Minimum 6–9 years of experience in offshore/marine instrumentation commissioning or control system start-up.
  • Strong working knowledge of instrument loop testing, calibration procedures, and safety-instrumented systems (SIS).
  • Experience with function testing, system walk-downs, and FAT procedures.
  • Familiarity with hazardous area instrumentation ( ATEX/IECEx) requirements is an advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail and clear, factual reporting skills.
