Known for our commitment to asset integrity, operational excellence, and engineering safety, we deliver elite Project Management Teams (PMTs) that safeguard our clients' multi-million-dollar capital investments globally.
For an upcoming drilling rig construction and reactivation project in Singapore, Peak Ocean is assembling an owner-side PMT. We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer (Commissioning) to serve as a Client Representative in this role.
The Role: Client Representative — Mechanical Engineer Commissioning
As part of the Peak Ocean PMT, you will act strictly in the client's interest, reporting to the Commissioning Manager. Your mission is to oversee the function testing, integration, and verification of mechanical equipment — mud systems, draw works, power generation packages, and other mechanical scope, ensuring each system is proven safe and fit for purpose ahead of handover.
- Review and execute commissioning procedures and function test records for mechanical systems, verifying results against acceptance criteria.
- Witness system energization, function testing, and performance verification of mechanical equipment.
- Coordinate mechanical punch-item closure with the Construction Manager's Mechanical Inspector team, distinguishing fabrication-related items from commissioning-stage findings.
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and system walk-downs for mechanical equipment ahead of commissioning handover.
- Troubleshoot mechanical system issues identified during commissioning, coordinating with equipment vendors and the Engineering Manager's mechanical team where root causes trace back to design or fabrication.
- Maintain commissioning records and system test documentation, supporting the Mechanical Completion (MC) certificate closeout process.
- Report commissioning progress and open items to the Commissioning Manager.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in offshore/marine mechanical commissioning or equipment start-up.
- Working knowledge of mechanical systems relevant to drilling assets (mud systems, draw works, power generation, BOPs).
- Experience with function testing, system walk-downs, and FAT procedures.
- Familiarity with API standards and Classification Society commissioning requirements is an advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail and clear, factual reporting skills.
