Job Summary

We are seeking a Lead Repair Development Engineer (Joining Technology) to develop, industrialize, and support advanced joining processes for gas turbine component repairs. This role focuses on process development, validation, technology transfer, and continuous improvement while collaborating with global engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new manufacturing and repair technologies to support component repair strategies and new product introduction (NPI).
  • Create and execute validation plans for repair materials and laser cladding technologies.
  • Support the industrialization and qualification of repair processes across global repair service centres.
  • Design, evaluate, and implement engineering solutions in accordance with business and technical requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and communicate technical updates, risks, and key milestones.
  • Provide technical expertise in joining technologies, including laser cladding, welding, brazing, and related repair processes.
  • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation in accordance with company standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance repair quality, productivity, and process capability.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, component engineering, manufacturing, and global teams to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Provide technical leadership and support for global repair process implementation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 8 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 5 years specializing in joining technologies.
  • Strong expertise in laser cladding, superalloy welding, brazing metallurgy, and CNC-controlled manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge of industrial gas turbine repair processes, including thermal spray coatings, machining, sealing, and surface finishing.
  • Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Willingness to travel internationally (approximately 10%) as required.
