For an upcoming drilling rig construction and reactivation project in Singapore, Peak Ocean is assembling an owner-side PMT. We are seeking a highly experienced Piping Inspector to serve as a Client Representative in this role.
The Role: Client Representative — Piping Inspector Inspection
As part of the Peak Ocean PMT, you will act strictly in the client's interest, reporting to the Construction Manager. Your mission is to verify that the shipyard's piping fabrication, installation, and pressure-testing work meets specification, drawings, and Class requirements, supporting on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Conduct day-to-day inspection of piping fabrication, spool installation, and pipe-support work.
- Verify installation workmanship, weld quality, and material traceability against approved isometrics and specifications.
- Witness hydrostatic/pneumatic pressure testing, verifying results against approved test procedures.
- Monitor daily welding and NDT logs for piping scope, and spool traceability records.
- Verify the closeout of piping punch-list items and raise non-conformances where work does not meet specification.
- Report inspection findings and progress daily to the Construction Manager.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Piping Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 4–7 years of piping inspection experience in offshore/marine fabrication or shipyard construction.
- Working knowledge of piping codes (ASME B31.3/B31.5) and material standards (API 5L, ASTM A106).
- Familiarity with pressure-testing procedures and weld traceability requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and clear, factual reporting skills.
