Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead Repair Development Engineer (Coatings) to develop and optimize advanced coating processes for gas turbine component repairs. This role will lead coating technology development, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborate with global engineering and manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality, reliable repair solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, evaluate, and optimize coating systems using HVOF, thermal spray, and related surface engineering technologies.
- Improve coating performance, durability, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Investigate coating failures, including adhesion issues, corrosion, blistering, cracking, peeling, and environmental degradation.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and global engineering teams to implement coating processes and resolve production issues.
- Provide technical support to internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers on coating applications and performance.
- Prepare technical reports, qualification documents, engineering recommendations, and test plans.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance coating quality, application efficiency, and product lifecycle performance.
- Apply Lean manufacturing principles and engineering best practices to improve repair processes.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on coating technologies.
- Lead small engineering projects and support cross-functional project execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Min 5–10 years of experience in HVOF, thermal spray, coatings, or surface engineering technologies.
- Strong knowledge of coating processes, material performance, and repair development.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proven experience in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and CAPA implementation.
