Industrial Gas Technician

1. Gas Cylinder Filling

• Fill cylinders with industrial and specialty gases according to specifications.
• Prepare calibration gas mixtures to required concentrations (where applicable).
• Operate gas filling manifolds, compressors, and pressure systems.
• Ensure cylinders are filled to the correct pressure and weight.

2. Cylinder Inspection and Maintenance

• Inspect cylinders for damage, corrosion, leaks, or expired hydrostatic test dates.
• Replace cylinder valves and seals when required.
• Perform leak testing before releasing cylinders.
• Segregate damaged or non-compliant cylinders for repair or disposal.

3. Quality Control

• Verify gas purity and composition using analytical instruments.
• Ensure calibration gas mixtures meet customer specifications.
• Maintain traceability and quality records.
• Follow ISO and internal quality procedures.

4. Equipment Operation, operate and maintain:

• Gas filling manifolds
• Vacuum pumps
• Compressors
• Pressure regulators
• Gas analyzers
• Gas chromatographs (for specialty gases)

5. Safety Compliance

• Follow compressed gas handling procedures.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Handle flammable, toxic, oxidizing, and inert gases safely.
• Respond to gas leaks and emergencies according to company procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.

6. Documentation

• Record filling quantities and batch numbers.
• Maintain cylinder inventory.
• Complete inspection and maintenance reports.
• Update production and quality records.
