Job Summary

Join S.A.M. Jurong West as a part-time math trainer delivering personalized lessons to preschool and primary students. Use a proven curriculum to engage learners, track progress, and adapt teaching methods to help students excel in math.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalized, engaging math lessons to preschool and primary students using the S.A.M. curriculum based on the Singapore MOE framework
• Track and assess each student’s progress to adapt teaching strategies for improved understanding and mastery
• Collaborate with full-time staff to create a supportive and positive learning environment
• Manage small group sessions to ensure individual attention and effective learning
• Apply the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) approach to build students’ conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills
• Encourage student confidence and enjoyment in mathematics through interactive and motivating teaching methods

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Education, Mathematics, or related fields (current undergraduates welcome)
• Prior teaching or tutoring experience (preferred but not required)
• Strong communication skills to explain mathematical concepts clearly and patiently
• Adaptability to meet diverse student learning needs and styles
• Genuine passion for teaching and nurturing young learners

Other Information

• Commitment: Minimum 6 hours per week
• Availability: Weekdays, Wednesday to Friday, between 1.30pm and 9.30pm with flexible scheduling within these hours
