Piping / Pipe Stress Engineer

PEAK OCEAN PTE. LTD.

Peak Ocean is a premier global consultancy and project management partner specializing in the offshore, marine, and renewable energy sectors. Known for our commitment to asset integrity, operational excellence, and engineering safety, we deliver elite Project Management Teams (PMTs) that safeguard our clients' multimillion-dollar capital investments globally.

For an upcoming drilling rig construction and reactivation project in Singapore, Peak Ocean is assembling an owner-side PMT. We are seeking a highly experienced Piping/Pipe Stress Engineer to serve as a Client Representative in this role.

The Role: Client Representative — Onsite Supervision & QA/QC

As part of the Peak Ocean PMT, you will act strictly in the client's interest, reporting to the Senior/Lead Piping/Pipe Stress Engineer. Your mission is to provide day-to-day field oversight of the shipyard's piping fabrication and installation work — high-pressure mud systems, choke/kill manifolds, cementing lines, and standpipe/riser piping, ensuring it is executed safely, to specification, and on schedule.

  • Conduct day-to-day field engineering, spool fabrication inspection, and progress tracking.
  • Monitor daily welding and NDT logs, spool traceability records, and contractor routine pressure testing operations.
  • Witness hydrostatic/pneumatic testing, verify the closeout of piping punch lists, and ensure all site modifications match approved "as-built" isometrics.
  • Report daily progress and any technical concerns to the Senior/Lead Piping Engineer.
  • Enforce contractor adherence to piping specifications, material grades (API 5L, ASTM A106), and tolerances laid out in the project contract.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Piping Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Working knowledge of high-pressure mud systems, choke/kill manifolds, cementing/well-control piping, and standpipe manifolds.
  • Familiarity with ASME B31.3/B31.5 and Classification Society rules (ABS/DNV).
  • Minimum 4–7 years of experience in offshore/marine construction or fabrication.
  • PMT / Client Representative experience preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent command and with the assertiveness to hold contractors accountable on behalf of the client.
