For an upcoming drilling rig construction and reactivation project in Singapore, Peak Ocean is assembling an owner-side PMT. We are seeking a highly experienced Instrument Engineer to serve as a Client Representative in this role.

The Role: Client Representative — Instrument Engineer Inspection

As part of the Peak Ocean PMT, you will act strictly in the client's interest, reporting to the Construction Manager. Your mission is to verify that the shipyard's instrumentation installation, loop checking, and calibration work meets specification, drawings, and quality standards, supporting on-time, on-budget delivery.

  • Conduct day-to-day inspection of instrumentation installation, including field devices, tubing, and control panel terminations.
  • Witness loop checks and instrument calibration activities, verifying results against approved specifications.
  • Monitor daily instrumentation inspection logs, instrument calibration certificates, and contractor routine operations.
  • Verify the closeout of instrumentation punch-list items and raise non-conformances where work does not meet specification.
  • Report inspection findings and progress daily to the Construction Manager.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Control Engineering.
  • Minimum 4–7 years of instrumentation inspection or installation experience in offshore/marine fabrication or shipyard construction.
  • Working knowledge of instrument loop diagrams, calibration procedures, and control system terminations.
  • Familiarity with hazardous area instrumentation requirements is an advantage.
  • Excellent attention to detail and clear, factual reporting skills.
