For an upcoming drilling rig construction and reactivation project in Singapore, Peak Ocean is assembling

an owner-side PMT. We are seeking a highly experienced Structural / Welding Inspector to serve as a Client Representative in this role.

The Role: Client Representative — Structural / Welding Inspector Inspection

As part of the Peak Ocean PMT, you will act strictly in the client's interest, reporting to the Construction Manager. Your mission is to verify that the shipyard's structural fabrication and welding work meets specification, drawings, and Class requirements, supporting on-time, on-budget delivery.

  • Conduct day-to-day inspection of structural fabrication, fit-up, and welding activities.
  • Verify weld quality, dimensional tolerances, and material traceability against approved drawings and welding procedures (WPS/PQR).
  • Monitor daily fabrication progress, fit-up inspections, and structural punch-list closeouts.
  • Coordinate with NDT Engineers/Inspectors on weld acceptance and rejection decisions.
  • Verify the closeout of structural/welding punch-list items and raise non-conformances where work does not meet specification.
  • Report inspection findings and progress daily to the Construction Manager.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Structural, Mechanical, or Marine Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 4–7 years of structural/welding inspection experience in offshore/marine fabrication or shipyard construction.
  • Working knowledge of welding codes and structural inspection standards (AWS D1.1, API RP 2A).
  • Recognized welding inspection certification (e.g., CSWIP or equivalent) is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail and clear, factual reporting skills.
