PLC ENGINEER

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced PLC Engineer to join our semiconductor projects in Singapore. The successful candidate will be responsible for PLC programming, I/O integration, system testing, commissioning, and SCADA/GMS integration for facility monitoring and industrial automation systems.

Work Location

Tampines (VSMC Project Site), Singapore

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, test, and troubleshoot PLC programs.
• Integrate PLC systems with GMS, SCADA, and field equipment.
• Develop control logic based on I/O Lists, Cause & Effect Matrix, and functional specifications.
• Perform I/O checking, Loop Testing, and site commissioning for DI, DO, AI, and AO signals.
• Troubleshoot communication, hardwired signals, alarms, and control system issues.
• Coordinate with clients, system integrators, subcontractors, and site construction teams.
• Prepare and maintain PLC testing records, I/O lists, commissioning reports, and project documentation.
• Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and system handover.
• Diagnose and resolve PLC, communication, and automation-related issues on site.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in PLC programming and industrial automation systems.
• Familiar with Siemens PLC, including S7-1200, S7-1500, PCS7, or S7-400.
• Experience in I/O testing, Loop Check, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Able to interpret electrical drawings, control panel drawings, I/O Lists, and system architecture diagrams.
• Experience with SCADA, GMS, Facility Monitoring Systems (FMCS), Gas Monitoring Systems, or semiconductor facility systems is preferred.
• Able to work on-site and support project schedules, testing, and commissioning activities.
• Good command of written and spoken English for technical communication and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on semiconductor or cleanroom projects.
• Experience with overseas or Singapore-based projects is an advantage.
• Familiar with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP, PROFINET, OPC, and EtherNet/IP.
• Experience with semiconductor systems such as GMS, FMCS, VMB, GC, or BSGS.
• Ability to independently perform PLC logic verification, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system integration.
• Familiar with PTW (Permit to Work), Risk Assessment (RA), Method Statements (MS), and site safety requirements.
