About the Role
At BD , we are looking for a hands-on Mold Technician to support the maintenance, repair, and optimization of molds used in our manufacturing operations.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring mold reliability, minimizing downtime, maintaining production efficiency, and supporting high-quality product output.
You will work closely with Technical Specialists, production teams, and engineering stakeholders to ensure molds are maintained to the highest standards and are ready to support daily manufacturing activities.
What You'll Do
Perform mold parting line cleaning and ensure molds are maintained in optimal condition.
Execute Mold Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Mold Changeover (C/O) activities according to established procedures.
Support mold repair activities and cavity unit (CU) recovery to minimize production downtime.
Follow technical directions and guidance from Technical Specialists (TS) and Senior Technical Specialists (STS).
Maintain mold cavity utilization (CU) performance targets and tooling readiness.
Conduct defect analysis and identify tooling-related issues associated with plastic parts and mold steel components.
Maintain accurate mold history records and documentation.
Ensure mold maintenance activities are properly recorded in the SAP system.
Support daily operational tasks assigned by the Team Leader.
Maintain excellent housekeeping and 5S standards within the toolroom.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
GCE O level, NITEC, Higher NITEC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Tool & Die, Manufacturing, or a related discipline.
Experience in mold maintenance, mold repair, tooling, or injection molding operations is preferred.
Knowledge of preventive maintenance and mold changeover processes.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and tooling specifications.
Hands-on troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a manufacturing environment.
Willingness to support shift operations and overtime when required.
