Sales Assistant

Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist customers in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
- Understand customers' needs and recommend suitable products or services.
- Process sales transactions accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, credit card, and digital payments while maintaining accurate records.
- Ensure products are properly displayed, stocked, and attractively presented.
- Replenish shelves and monitor inventory levels, reporting low stock to management.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, storage areas, and counters.
- Answer customer enquiries regarding products, pricing, promotions, and store policies.
- Assist in receiving, checking, labeling, and storing incoming stock.
- Support stocktaking and inventory audits as required.
- Promote ongoing promotions, loyalty programs, and special offers to customers.
- Handle customer complaints or feedback professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
- Assist in opening and closing the store according to company procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and hygiene standards.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily and monthly sales targets.
- Help prepare reports or sales records when requested by supervisors.
- Safeguard company property and prevent stock loss or theft.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Store Manager or Management that are consistent with the role.
Skills and Qualifications
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, positive, and customer-focused attitude.
- Basic numeracy and cash-handling skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting when required.
- Previous retail or customer service experience is an advantage but not essential.
- Basic computer and POS system knowledge is preferred.
