Nutrition and Food Science (NFS) Lab Assistant

Key Responsibilities and Scope of Services

1. Lab Maintenance & Upkeep

  • Perform daily upkeep of the food laboratories, which includes sweeping, mopping, and tidying both the food labs and the preparation room.

2. Lesson & Examination Support

  • Prepare for and actively support lessons conducted at the food labs.

  • Collate recipe ingredient orders from teachers and carry out timely procurement/ordering of ingredients for daily lessons and examinations.

3. Administrative & Operations Support

  • Support the NFS unit with administrative filling and documentation, including handling billings, receipts, delivery orders, etc.

  • Assist with internal stock-checking and assets checking.

  • Manage equipment loans, reference books, and other related assets.

  • Liaise with external contractors regarding equipment maintenance.

  • Support other school department activities that involve the use of the food labs.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Candidates must meet the following baseline criteria to be considered:

  • Education: Minimum of secondary school qualifications or equivalent.

  • Language & IT Skills: Able to converse and keep records effectively in English, and proficiently use MS Office applications.

  • Certifications: Must possess relevant certifications in food hygiene, food preparation, and food safety.

  • Experience: At least three (3) years of similar experience working within a school environment.
