Student Management and Investigation Officer

Key Responsibilities

1. Student Incident Management & Investigation

  • Respond promptly to student management cases, including theft, physical altercations, bullying/cyberbullying, vandalism, and breaches of school rules.

  • Conduct preliminary investigations, gather accurate and objective information, and establish clear timelines of events.

  • Interview students involved, witnesses, and other relevant parties using appropriate questioning and communication techniques.

  • Collect and review evidence, including written statements, CCTV footage, photographs, and digital records.

  • Maintain absolute neutrality, objectivity, and confidentiality throughout all investigations.

2. Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare clear, accurate, and professional investigation reports summarizing findings, evidence, statements, and timelines.

  • Highlight key concerns, risk factors, and recommended follow-up actions.

  • Submit reports to Key Personnel (KPs), Year Heads, HODs, Vice-Principals, or the Principal for decision-making and intervention.

3. Student Support & Staff Collaboration

  • Build positive relationships with students to facilitate open communication while maintaining professional boundaries.

  • Exercise empathy and support students in reflecting on their actions and understanding consequences.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, school leaders, school counsellors, and Special Educational Needs (SEN) Officers to support student development and well-being.

  • Provide timely case updates to relevant school leadership and minimize disruptions to classroom teaching when gathering context.

4. Record Management

  • Maintain highly confidential records of all incidents, investigations, and outcomes.

  • Ensure all documentation strictly complies with school policies and data protection requirements.

  • Monitor behavioral trends or recurring issues and provide reports to school leaders where necessary.

Academic Qualifications

  • Minimum Higher Nitec or GCE "O" Level with three or more passes, including a credit in English Language.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar field.

  • Prior experience working within a Ministry of Education (MOE) school environment is highly advantageous.

Essential Skills & Attributes

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • Professional, calm, and pleasant demeanour.

  • Experience in conflict management, mediation, student discipline, or case management is advantageous.

  • Familiarity with school systems and student development principles is preferred.
