The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance operations of injection molding machinery and equipment in the production facility. This role involves ensuring maximum machine uptime, minimizing downtime, implementing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring the plant’s equipment operates efficiently and safely. The Maintenance Manager will also manage a team of maintenance technicians and collaborate closely with production, engineering, and quality departments to meet operational goals.

Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to ensure that all injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and facilities are operating at peak performance.

Oversee corrective maintenance to quickly resolve machine breakdowns, minimizing production downtime.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies related to machine safety and maintenance.
Lead, train, and mentor the maintenance team to improve performance, skills, and safety awareness.
Allocate tasks to maintenance technicians and ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
Foster a collaborative and proactive work environment with production staff to achieve operational goals.
Manage maintenance schedules, track machine performance, and maintain accurate records of maintenance work and repairs.
Ensure the timely availability of parts and materials needed for maintenance activities.
Conduct root cause analysis for recurring machine failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Identify areas for continuous improvement in the maintenance processes and machine efficiency.
Recommend upgrades, modifications, or new equipment to improve production capabilities and quality.
Introduce new technologies or methodologies to enhance the effectiveness of the maintenance function.
Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to strict safety standards and practices to prevent accidents.
Monitor compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Conduct regular safety inspections of machinery and maintenance work areas.
Develop and manage the maintenance department budget, ensuring cost-effective maintenance practices.
Analyze maintenance costs and identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining high equipment reliability.
Work closely with the production and quality teams to coordinate maintenance schedules that minimize disruption to production schedules.
Provide technical expertise and support to resolve production issues related to machinery or equipment.
Communicate maintenance performance and key metrics to senior management.
Authority to approve and implement maintenance schedules and strategies.
Decision-making authority on vendor and contractor selection for maintenance activities.
Responsibility for resource allocation and team management within the maintenance department.
QUALIFICATION
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Alternatively, equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 7-10 years of experience in maintenance management, preferably in an injection molding or similar manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience in managing a team of maintenance professionals.
• In-depth knowledge of injection molding machinery, maintenance practices, and equipment troubleshooting.
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
•Proficiency in maintenance management software (CMMS).
•Ability to perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to manage budgets and control maintenance costs effectively.
• Relevant technical certifications (e.g., Maintenance Manager certification, Six Sigma, etc.) are a plus.
