Job Summary
You will support the Section Chef by preparing ingredients, measuring portions accurately, managing deliveries and stock rotation, and maintaining hygiene standards to ensure food is prepared according to specifications and minimize wastage.
Responsibilities
- Report to the Section Chef and senior kitchen staff to receive and clarify work instructions
- Execute assigned kitchen tasks accurately to meet quality and presentation standards
- Follow and maintain hygiene, sanitation, and cleanliness procedures in all kitchen areas
- Prepare ingredients precisely as required by the senior chef for meal preparation
- Measure dish ingredients and portion sizes accurately to ensure consistency and quality
- Ensure food preparation complies with specifications provided by the senior chef
- Manage deliveries by receiving supplies and performing stock rotation to maintain freshness
- Minimize food wastage by monitoring ingredient usage and storage practices
- Continuously improve culinary skills through training and self-study to enhance performance
- Perform additional duties as assigned by superiors to support kitchen operations
- Adhere to the Staff Code of Conduct at all times to maintain professional standards
