Ocean Infinity is seeking AUV Operators to join our offshore team. The AUV Operator will be responsible for successful operations of our Hugin AUV's as well as maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of the Hugin AUV and auxiliary components in offshore environments around the world onboard our State of the Art Armada fleet. This is a fast‑moving role where priorities can change at short notice, so you’ll need to be comfortable adapting quickly and staying effective in a dynamic environment.
What will you do
Be familiar with the company’s operational procedures relating to the performance of their duties;
Complete pre-project planning documentation and maintenance logs required in the fulfilment of the contractual work scope;
Become familiar with the operation, maintenance, and fault-finding for the assigned system, including the Launch and Recovery System;
Responsible for performance of tasks within the preventative maintenance program as assigned and delegated by the AUV manager or AUV technical lead. The updating of maintenance records and recording of tasks completed;
Prepare system sensors for calibration;
Assist with asset management tasks;
Perform system software upgrades as authorised by the AUV manager;
Attend project mobilisations and demobilisations globally if and when required;
Assist with research and development projects driven by the company;
Responsible for ensuring that all equipment and safety equipment is fit for purpose prior to use;
Responsible for maintaining awareness during the performance of assigned duties, recognising the effect changes may have on safe performance;
Maintain effective communication and working relationships with all colleagues;
Participate in lessons learnt sessions and assist working towards and implementing improvements;
Become proficient with Kongsberg Hugin Operator and Payload software;
Remain current with system developments within the industry;
Assist with department administration.
Who you are
HND or degree qualified in electronic or electrical systems;
BOSIET and offshore medical certificates.
Understanding of mechanical systems;
Understanding of basic hydraulics;
Willing and able to work offshore for 4/6 week on/off rotations;
Competent with IT systems and networking;
Confident user of computers and software applications;
Ability to understand technical drawings and system schematic;
Fluent in both written and spoken English;
Interested in the others and strives for the best for the team;
Ability to take ownership and engagement in the work;
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment;
Driven, proactive and able to work autonomously with little supervision towards the company's purpose;
Critical thinking and ability to show initiative;
Ability to work well in a team and independently;
Enthusiastic about protecting people and the planet.
Desirable
Experience with Hugin AUV;
Number of days offshore: Approximately 180 days based on 6/6 week rotations
Salary for this position: Up to £80,000 per annum (divided between basic salary and offshore uplift)
Salary: The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
