Contract Manager

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all contract administration and commercial management functions for construction projects.
  • Manage subcontract procurement, tendering, evaluation, contract negotiations, contract awards, and subcontract administration.
  • Administer client contracts, including progress claims, variations, extension of time (EOT) submissions, and contractual claims.
  • Prepare, monitor, and control project budgets, cost plans, and target costs to ensure project profitability and effective cost management.
  • Analyze project cost performance, identify cost variances, and implement timely corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate contract records and ensure all contract-related data is properly updated in the company's contract management system.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers on contractual and commercial matters.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, statutory requirements, and support internal audit activities.
  • Promote compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and maintain confidentiality of all commercial information.
  • Evaluate, pre-qualify, and develop strategic partnerships with subcontractors and suppliers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Law, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in contract management, commercial management, or quantity surveying within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, tendering procedures, subcontract administration, cost control, and commercial management.
  • Sound understanding of variation claims, Extension of Time (EOT), contractual claims, and dispute resolution.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Able to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in English and Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients and stakeholders.
  • Experience in Singapore civil engineering, infrastructure, or building construction projects will be an advantage.
