Meta is seeking an experienced Labor and Employment Counsel, APAC, to join its Global Employment Law Team on a short-term employment (STE) basis for 10 months to provide temporary cover. In this role, you will support Meta's workforce across the APAC region on a broad range of employment law matters, providing day-to-day legal counsel on issues including hiring practices, employee relations, performance management, leaves of absence, reductions in force, and employment-related disputes. You will partner closely with People Operations, HR business partners, and business leaders to deliver practical, risk-informed guidance that enables Meta to operate responsibly and in compliance with applicable labor and employment laws.
Counsel, Labor and Employment Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic employment law advice on all aspects of the employee life cycle to the People@ team across APAC, including human resources, recruiting, payroll, people operations, compensation and benefits, immigration, and employee relations teams
- Partner with internal teams to build processes and playbooks for recurring employee-related matters and contribute to region-wide projects and initiatives
- Draft and revise employment-related agreements and policies, including offer letters, severance agreements, employee handbooks, and other employment-related documents applicable to Meta's APAC employees
- Support employment litigation as necessary
Minimum Qualifications
- Meta requires all employed attorneys to have a law degree or equivalent certificate to permit the practice of law and be appropriately licensed and authorized to practice law for the company in their assigned work location. Unless prohibited under local law, an attorney must hold a current practicing certificate (including where required from the relevant authority in the jurisdiction of the assigned work location) or the local law equivalent bar registration or license as may be applicable
- 5+ years of labor and employment law experience in a law firm, in-house legal department, or a combination of both

- Experience communicating legal advice and partnering with cross-functional teams to provide practical, scalable solutions
- Experience influencing senior business and HR leaders through clear, practical legal guidance on high-stakes and ambiguous employment law issues
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
- Experience with labor and employment law in APAC
- Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
- Experience providing labor and employment legal counsel within a large-scale technology company or other complex, fast-paced organization
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
- A qualified lawyer in an APAC jurisdiction
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
