Position Summary
The Sales Director will own the regional sales strategy, lead and develop a team of sales managers and executives, and be accountable for achieving aggressive revenue targets across Singapore and the wider APAC market. This is a senior leadership role requiring a proven sales leader with strong business acumen, people management skills, and the ability to engage C-level stakeholders in complex, consultative sales environments.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Revenue Leadership
- Define and execute the regional sales strategy to achieve short- and long-term revenue goals
- Own the sales forecast, pipeline, and budget for Singapore and APAC markets
- Identify new market opportunities, verticals, and partnership channels for expansion
- Set and track KPIs, sales targets, and performance metrics across the team
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sales managers, account executives, and pre-sales specialists
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and career development planning
- Recruit, onboard, and retain top sales talent across the region
- Foster a high-performance, results-oriented, and collaborative sales culture
Key Account & Strategic Client Management
- Personally manage strategic, enterprise, and key accounts; build relationships with C-level decision-makers
- Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles and high-value contract negotiations
- Act as executive sponsor for major deals and client engagements
- Drive customer success alignment to maximise retention, expansion, and lifetime value
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Marketing on go-to-market (GTM) strategy, demand generation, and brand positioning
- Work closely with Product, Customer Success, and Operations to align on market needs and feedback
- Collaborate with Finance on pricing strategy, forecasting, and revenue planning
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and key client meetings
Reporting & Executive Communication
- Provide regular sales performance updates, forecasts, and insights to the C-suite and board
- Present quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and annual sales plans to senior leadership
- Track market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments to inform strategy
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA or equivalent highly preferred
- 10–15 years' progressive B2B sales experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
- Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding multi-million-dollar revenue targets
- Strong experience managing, coaching, and scaling high-performing sales teams
- Track record of selling to enterprise, mid-market, and government clients across APAC
- Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot), sales analytics, and forecasting tools
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Valid Singapore work authorisation (Singapore Citizen, PR, or EP holder preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry experience in [e.g., SaaS, fintech, logistics, manufacturing, professional services]
- Established network of C-level contacts across APAC
- Experience with structured sales methodologies (MEDDPICC, Command of the Message, Challenger)
- Regional P&L ownership and multi-country team management experience
- Additional language skills (Mandarin, Bahasa, Thai, Japanese) advantageous
- Prior experience working in a matrixed, multinational, or PE/VC-backed environment
