Overview
Manage and operate platform services in a tenant environment above hypervisor level.
Ensure reliability, security, and operability of container platforms and COTS components (MongoDB, Nginx, MQTT, IBM MQ, ArcGIS, etc.).
Key Responsibilities
1. Platform Operations & Management
Manage, monitor, and maintain platform services including container platforms, middleware, databases, messaging systems, and supporting runtime components.
Support Day 2 operations, incident response, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem management activities.
Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade operating systems (RHEL, Windows Server) and platform-related software.
Perform platform performance tuning, capacity planning, and service optimization activities.
Support backup, recovery, and restoration activities for platform components and COTS products.
Ensure service availability and operational readiness across Development, Test, Staging, and Production environments.
2. Container Platform & COTS Management
Install, configure, patch, and maintain container platforms and runtimes such as:
Kubernetes
Podman
Docker
Install, configure, patch, and support enterprise COTS solutions including:
MongoDB
MSSQL
NGINX
Apache HTTPD
IBM MQ
MQTT Brokers
Kafka
ArcGIS
Keycloak
3. Security & Compliance
Perform infrastructure security hardening and testing based on CIS benchmarks and Singapore Government security standards.
Manage access controls and user accounts in line with IT security policies.
Support compliance with IT governance, audit, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and execution.
4. Collaboration & Projects
Collaborate with Application Engineers, DevOps Engineers, Security Engineers, and AFE teams to resolve platform-related issues.
Work with infrastructure providers and vendors to troubleshoot connectivity, network, load balancer, and firewall-related issues.
Support onboarding and integration of new applications and platform services.
Participate in technical discussions, service improvement initiatives, and operational reviews.
5. Platform Maintenance & Upgrades
Test, stage, and deploy platform patches, middleware upgrades, security fixes, and version upgrades.
Perform platform lifecycle management activities.
Support change implementation and release activities in accordance with approved change management processes.
Ensure operational readiness and rollback plans are available for major changes.
6. Monitoring, Observability & Reliability
Configure and maintain monitoring, logging, and observability solutions.
Monitor platform health, resource utilization, and service availability.
Analyze performance trends and proactively identify capacity or reliability risks.
Support centralized logging and troubleshooting activities across platform components.
7. Documentation & Continuous Improvement
Maintain up-to-date SOPs, infrastructure diagrams, maintenance logs, and change records.
Generate reports on performance, capacity, and preventive maintenance activities.
Identify opportunities for automation and reliability improvements to strengthen infrastructure resilience.
Requirements
Education & Certification
Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent.
Relevant certifications (preferred but not mandatory)
MongoDB Administrator
RHCSA / RHCE (Red Hat)
VMware VCP
Experience & Skills
At least 3–5 years of experience in infrastructure administration and support.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server, RHEL, VMware, and enterprise hardware (servers, storage, networking).
Hands-on experience with backup and recovery tools, firewalls, and system monitoring platforms.
Familiarity with container platforms (OpenShift/Kubernetes), DevOps tools (Ansible, GitLab), and monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus).
Experience installing, configuring, and supporting enterprise COTS products such as: MongoDB, NGINX, APACHE, IBM MQ, NGINX, ArcGIS, CICD Platfom, etc…
Working knowledge of ITIL processes (incident, change, and problem management).
Experience in pre-sales or tender preparation will be an added advantage.
