Job Summary
Lead and coordinate housekeeping operations in hotels or similar establishments by assigning tasks, training staff, managing inventory, and ensuring cleanliness standards are consistently met to deliver excellent guest experiences.
Responsibilities
- Assign daily housekeeping tasks and inspect completed work to ensure compliance with cleanliness standards
- Schedule staff shifts and coordinate replacements to maintain operational coverage
- Investigate and resolve housekeeping-related complaints professionally to uphold service quality
- Train and mentor housekeeping staff to enhance skills and maintain high service levels
- Maintain inventory records and order cleaning supplies to ensure availability of materials
- Distribute cleaning materials and equipment efficiently to housekeeping staff
- Assist in recruiting and evaluating housekeeping staff to build a competent team
- Perform cleaning duties during staff shortages to support team operations
Required competencies and certifications
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform cleaning tasks as needed to meet physical demands of the role
- Willingness to work overtime and shifts to support operational needs
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- High school diploma
- Proven experience in housekeeping or hospitality industry demonstrating practical knowledge
- Solid understanding of housekeeping procedures and standards to ensure quality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for administrative tasks
- Strong multitasking and time-management skills to handle multiple responsibilities effectively
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills to manage teams and workflows
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills to interact with staff and guests
