Role Purpose
Provide leadership and oversight for all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) activities across assigned projects to ensure compliance with company standards, client requirements, and statutory regulations. Promote and maintain an Incident Free Workplace culture through effective implementation of EHS programs, risk management, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation of project EHS strategies, plans, procedures, and programs to achieve company EHS objectives and support an Incident Free Workplace culture.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS legislation, client requirements, and company policies. Identify project risks and implement mitigation measures through effective risk assessment and management processes.
- Monitor project EHS performance, analyze trends, investigate incidents, and report findings with recommendations for corrective and preventive actions.
- Act as the primary EHS representative to clients, contractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities on all project-related EHS matters.
- Lead, coach, and develop project EHS teams while promoting best practices and continuous improvement across all project activities.
- Develop, implement, and maintain project EHS Plans and Procedures.
- Manage Permit-to-Work systems and ensure compliance with construction safety requirements.
- Conduct EHS inspections, audits, and assessments to identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead incident investigations and ensure effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Manage EHS committee meetings and ensure closure of action items.
- Support supplier and subcontractor evaluations from an EHS perspective.
- Ensure emergency preparedness plans are established, communicated, and tested
- Maintain compliance with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
- Support project teams in achieving client and corporate EHS objectives
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Environmental, Occupational Safety & Health, or related discipline.
- Minimum 8–12 years of EHS experience within construction, EPC, or engineering project environments.
- Experience implementing and maintaining EHS management systems, project EHS plans, and ConSASS audits.
- Experience working with multinational clients and subcontractors is preferred.
- Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) – MOM.
- Registered Environmental Control Officer (ECO) preferred.
- ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders would be advantageous to support project coordination and client engagement activities.
