Job Summary
The Kitchen Assistant plays an essential role in the daily operations of the Back of House / Kitchen Operations department. This position is responsible for supporting the culinary team by preparing ingredients, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and ensuring that all food items meet quality and safety standards before they reach to the guests’ table. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced kitchen, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and is committed to upholding the highest standards of food preparation and hygiene.
Responsibilities
Food Preparation
- Prepare sauces, dressing, garnish, and basic stocks under the guidance of the Chef
- Assemble ingredient mise-enplace with the Chef chopper, ensuring all ingredient are fully stocked andready for service
- Follow standardized portion controls to maintain consistency across all dishes
- Monitor ingredient freshness and rotate stock using First-In First-Out (FIFO) method
Kitchen Maintenance &Sanitation
- Clean and sanitize all worksurfaces, cutting boards, knives, and equipment throughout each shift
- Sweep and mop floors, empty trash bins, and ensure dishwashing stations are clear of debris
- Assist with deep cleaning projects such as hood vents, shelving, chiller and freezer as per scheduled
- Adhere to all local health department regulations and restaurant-specific sanitation protocols
Requirements
- Valid Food Hygiene Certificate (WSQ Food Safety Course Level 1)
- Min 2 years of previous experience in F&B roles
- Speak clearly to communicate with customers andteam members
- Excellent communication and customer serviceskills
- Present yourself in a well-groomed, positive working attitude and professional manner
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work shifts, evenings, weekends, and public holidays
Working Hours
- 6 days work week
- 10 to 11 hours / day shift- based schedule
