About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Fire Protection to lead the successful delivery of complex fire protection projects across Singapore. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in Fire Protection Systems and Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) services to join a growing engineering organisation. You will take ownership of multiple projects from project award through planning, execution, testing, commissioning, and final handover. Working closely with clients, consultants, contractors, regulatory authorities, and internal engineering teams, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with Singapore's fire safety regulations. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent leadership, project management, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead the complete lifecycle of fire protection system projects from planning through commissioning and project close-out.
  • Develop detailed project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure timely delivery while maintaining quality, cost, and safety objectives.
  • Identify project risks and implement effective mitigation and contingency plans.

Technical Project Management

  • Review project specifications, engineering drawings, technical submissions, and material approvals.
  • Coordinate shop drawings, fire-rated material approvals, risk assessments, and method statements.
  • Ensure all fire protection installations comply with applicable fire safety codes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Provide technical guidance to resolve engineering and installation challenges throughout project execution.

Site Operations & Team Leadership

  • Lead and supervise project supervisors, safety coordinators, site personnel, and specialist subcontractors.
  • Plan and optimise manpower deployment, equipment utilisation, and project resources.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, progress reviews, and coordination meetings.
  • Foster a strong culture of teamwork, accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong working relationships with clients, consultants, architects, main contractors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular updates on project milestones, risks, and progress.
  • Resolve technical, commercial, and operational issues through proactive communication and collaboration.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure projects comply with Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) requirements and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) regulations.
  • Oversee testing, commissioning, authority inspections, final acceptance, and project handover.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, quality records, and compliance reports.
  • Champion best practices in safety, quality assurance, and operational excellence across all project activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of project management experience within the Fire Protection industry.
  • Proven track record delivering commercial, industrial, residential, institutional, or high-rise building projects.
  • Strong technical expertise across fire protection systems, including design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary M&E services, including Fire Protection, ACMV, Electrical, and Plumbing & Sanitary systems.
  • Strong understanding of Singapore fire safety regulations, SCDF requirements, and relevant engineering standards.
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and client relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, AutoCAD, and project management software.
