Application Support Engineer (Production Support / Unix / SQL)

We are looking for an experienced Application Support Engineer to join our Production Services team supporting mission critical systems within the Wealth Management domain. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of production applications while providing timely support to business users and working closely with development, infrastructure, and vendor teams.

This role is ideal for candidates with strong production support experience in banking or financial institutions and hands on experience with Unix and SQL.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily application and production support for Wealth Management systems.
• Monitor production environments to ensure high system availability and performance.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents within agreed service levels.
• Perform incident, problem, and change management activities.
• Analyse root causes of production issues and implement workarounds or permanent resolutions.
• Escalate complex issues to development teams or external vendors where required.
• Coordinate production deployments, system upgrades, releases, and change implementations.
• Work closely with business users to resolve application issues and support operational requirements.
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production rollouts for projects and BAU enhancements.
• Collaborate with regional IT teams, infrastructure teams, and vendors to ensure smooth end to end processing.
• Participate in business continuity planning, disaster recovery exercises, and regional projects.
• Support shift operations and on call duties when required.

Requirements

Mandatory

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of application or production support experience within the banking or financial services industry.
• Experience supporting Wealth Management, Order Management, or Execution Management Systems.
• Strong hands on experience with:Unix/LinuxSQL (Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server)Oracle 19cWindows Server environments
• Experience writing Unix shell scripts and automating operational tasks.
• Experience working with job scheduling tools such as AutoSys.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast paced production support environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

• Experience with Avaloq, MarginMan, or AWS.
• Avaloq Certification.
• ITIL v3 or equivalent certification.
• Knowledge of FIX Protocol.
• Understanding of FX, Money Markets, Equities, Derivatives, and front to back banking operations.
• Exposure to cloud operations, microservices, Python, Perl, or Excel automation.

Additional Information

• Employment Type: Contract (1 year, renewable)
• Salary: Up to SGD 6,000 per month
• Work Schedule: Rotating shift (7:00 AM to 4:00 PM / 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM) with on call support
