Client Overview
Our client is a European MNC specializing in advanced battery technologies for various applications, including energy storage, aerospace, defense, and transportation.
Within the ESS division, the Mechanical & Civil Works Engineer is involved in the project phases, the assembly and installation of batteries, the implementation and monitoring of tests on products in development or in series life.
The Mechanical & Civil Works Engineer is responsible for his projects and interacts directly with customers in English most of the time.
Manage all tasks related to product mechanical modification with a cost, quality and deadline objective
Manage subcontracting in 3D calculation (drafting of specifications, proofreading of results, validation of studies)
Write all technical documents, working instruction relating to the mechanical engineering carried out (reports, plans, calculations, controls, etc.)
Answer questions from the Bid for calls for tenders
Respond to Projects for the commissioning of their products.
Conduct investigation to product quality or technical issue from mechanical engineering perspective
Coordinate the mechanical design for BESS equipment installation incl. seismic kit, snoot kit and lifting calculation
Design of batteries and/or base bricks in order to meet internal or external customer specifications
The establishment and updating of technical documents (drawing files, bills of materials, etc.) to enable the manufacture of the product in the factory.
Validation through mock-ups/prototypes, or calculations or technical notes, innovative technical solutions to meet specific needs (application, customer).
Technically, the services quality/purchasing/industrialization and production to respond, as a mechanical referent, to requests for evolutions and derogations
3D modeling and 2D drawing of the technical solutions developed on its projects by reproducing the established design rules (Promotion of technical documentation under windchill)
- Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an engineering function, design office, mechanical design, CAD (Creo), thermal simulation, shock simulation, vibration, fluidics.
- Experience in the mechanical development of Li-Ion or Alkaline battery systems for the ESS market or the automotive, rail or stationary markets.
- Ability to understand the problems of choice of materials, qualification of suppliers, knowledge of special processes such as application of paints, welding.
- Experience in the manufacture of battery systems or industrial electrical cabinets would be a plus for this position, allowing a better consideration of manufacturing constraints during the design phase.
- Experience in client management and/or remote work.
- Mastery of computer tools (Excel, Word, Project), notions in CAD and 3D calculations.
- Fluent in professional English
