The Electrical Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, supervising, and monitoring electrical installation works for construction projects. The role involves reviewing electrical drawings and technical specifications, coordinating with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and project teams, and ensuring all electrical works are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with approved drawings, project requirements, and applicable regulations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Review electrical drawings, specifications, technical documents, and project requirements.
  • Plan and coordinate electrical installation works at construction sites.
  • Supervise the installation of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting systems, cabling, switchboards, earthing systems, fire alarm systems, and related electrical services.
  • Ensure all electrical works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, safety requirements, and applicable standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor the quality and progress of electrical works.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues arising during installation and construction activities.
  • Prepare method statements, technical submissions, material submissions, work schedules, and progress reports.
  • Monitor project schedules and ensure electrical works are completed according to the required timeline.
  • Arrange and supervise testing, inspection, commissioning, and handover of completed electrical systems.
  • Ensure proper documentation of inspection records, test reports, drawings, and project correspondence.
  • Monitor material requirements and coordinate procurement and delivery of electrical equipment and materials.
  • Attend site meetings and provide technical updates on project progress.
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety procedures and electrical safety requirements.
  • Perform any other engineering and project-related duties assigned by management.
