Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to manage, maintain and optimize enterprise infrastructure and cloud platforms. The role involves supporting mission-critical applications, Linux environments, middleware platforms, cloud infrastructure and automation initiatives while ensuring system reliability, security and high availability. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to support production operations, infrastructure enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, maintain and support enterprise middleware platforms including message queues, API gateways and container platforms.
Manage production infrastructure to ensure high system availability, stability and performance.
Perform infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting and root cause analysis using enterprise monitoring and logging tools.
Design, deploy and maintain cloud infrastructure within AWS environments.
Support Linux server administration, including system configuration, patching, OS hardening and performance tuning.
Develop automation scripts using Bash, Ansible or similar technologies to streamline operational tasks and infrastructure management.
Manage SSL certificates, security updates and compliance-related activities.
Configure and maintain virtualized infrastructure, servers, storage and networking components.
Support containerized workloads and orchestration platforms such as OpenShift or Kubernetes.
Perform production deployments, change management and release support activities.
Monitor infrastructure health, capacity and resource utilization, implementing proactive improvements where required.
Maintain documentation, operational procedures and disaster recovery processes.
Collaborate with application, development and operations teams to support system integration and issue resolution.
Participate in incident response, problem management and on-call support where required.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related discipline.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Engineering or Cloud Engineering.
Strong Linux system administration experience.
Hands-on experience supporting production enterprise applications and middleware platforms.
Experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Load Balancers, CloudFront and related cloud services.
Experience with container platforms including OpenShift, Docker and/or Kubernetes.
Knowledge of messaging technologies such as IBM MQ, Kafka or RabbitMQ.
Experience with API Gateway technologies.
Experience with infrastructure automation using Bash scripting and Ansible.
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Splunk, Kibana or similar platforms.
Experience performing OS patching, vulnerability remediation and system hardening.
Understanding of SSL certificate lifecycle management.
Experience with virtualization technologies such as KVM.
Good understanding of networking concepts including VPNs, firewalls, routing and load balancing.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills
Experience supporting enterprise banking, financial services or mission-critical environments.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Experience with configuration management and Infrastructure as Code.
Knowledge of monitoring, logging and performance optimization best practices.
Exposure to high-availability and disaster recovery architectures.
Experience supporting SaaS platforms and customer-facing production environments.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
Willingness to participate in after-hours production support or scheduled maintenance activities when required.
