Bar Manager – Job Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee the daily operations of the bar to ensure smooth and efficient service.

- Lead, supervise, train and motivate bartenders and service staff.

- Prepare staff duty rosters and manage manpower requirements.

- Maintain high standards of customer service and resolve guest feedback or complaints professionally.

- Monitor stock levels, place orders and liaise with suppliers.

- Conduct regular inventory counts and minimise wastage, breakage and theft.

- Ensure all beverages are prepared and served according to company standards.

- Develop and update drink menus and seasonal promotions.

- Monitor sales performance and work towards achieving revenue targets.

- Ensure compliance with Singapore's liquor licensing regulations and responsible alcohol service.

- Maintain cleanliness, hygiene and safety standards in the bar area.

- Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and report any faults promptly.

- Verify customers' age when serving alcoholic beverages where required.

- Handle cash, POS transactions and end-of-day reconciliation.

- Assist in planning and coordinating special events and private functions.

- Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed accurately.

- Work closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to provide seamless service.

- Coach staff to improve product knowledge and upselling techniques.

- Prepare operational reports and submit them to management.

- Perform any other duties assigned by management.
