About the Role

AM Intelligence is looking for an International Business Compliance, Data Governance & Corporate Governance Manager to support the company’s international technology, AI-related and cross-border business operations from Singapore.

The role will focus on international business compliance, data governance, corporate governance, regulatory research, commercial risk control and practical implementation of internal legal and compliance processes. The successful candidate will work closely with management, founders, business, product, finance, technology, legal and external advisory teams to support AM Intelligence’s regional and international operations.

This is a hands-on role for a commercially minded legal and compliance professional with experience in international technology companies, China-outbound business operations, European regulatory environments, startup governance and multilingual stakeholder coordination. The role requires the ability to translate complex legal, regulatory, governance and business requirements into practical internal processes, risk controls and management recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

• Support international business compliance, data governance and corporate governance workstreams across Singapore, China, APAC, the European Union, French-speaking markets, the United States and other relevant jurisdictions.

• Monitor, interpret and summarize legal, regulatory and enforcement developments relating to data protection, AI governance, cybersecurity, digital platforms, advertising technology, cross-border business operations, technology-sector compliance and startup governance.

• Support China-related business and regulatory coordination, including communication with China-based management, business teams, technology teams, partners, clients, external advisors and other stakeholders.

• Support European and French-speaking market compliance matters, including review of regulatory updates, external counsel advice, market-facing materials and implementation requirements relating to GDPR, DSA, AI governance, data protection, cybersecurity and other EU or local market rules.

• Support corporate governance matters for a growing technology company, including board and shareholder documentation, internal authorization processes, corporate record-keeping, entity governance, director and officer matters, and coordination with corporate secretarial service providers.

• Support fundraising, investment, financing, shareholder, restructuring or other corporate transactions from a legal, compliance and documentation perspective, including coordination with external counsel and professional advisors.

• Develop, maintain and improve practical compliance frameworks, internal policies, governance playbooks, approval flows, risk assessment checklists, authorization matrices, internal guidance and training materials to support international business expansion and risk control.

• Work with founders, management, business, product, technology, finance, tax, legal and external advisory teams to identify, assess and manage legal and compliance risks arising from new products, commercial models, data flows, AI-related use cases, technology partnerships, vendor arrangements and market-entry activities.

• Support data protection and privacy governance projects, including privacy policy review, user rights handling, cross-border data transfer assessments, data breach response procedures, DPIA-style risk assessments and internal data governance improvements.

• Review and support commercial, technology, vendor, service, partnership, marketing, data-related, investment-related and internal operational agreements from a business compliance and risk-control perspective.

• Conduct compliance reviews and internal audits on business processes, documentation, vendor arrangements, commercial practices, governance records and operational controls, and follow up on remediation actions.

• Coordinate with external counsel, consultants, corporate secretaries, accountants, tax advisors and other professional service providers in different jurisdictions, and translate external legal or professional advice into actionable internal recommendations.

• Prepare internal compliance reports, regulatory updates, risk memos, board or management briefings, governance summaries and training materials for internal stakeholders.

• Support governance build-out for international operations, including entity-level governance, authorization processes, contract governance, external advisor management, internal documentation and cross-functional compliance coordination.

• Act as a bridge between China-based stakeholders and overseas business or advisory teams, ensuring that compliance and governance requirements are understood, localized and implemented effectively.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Law, International Business Law, Data Protection, Information Security, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Communications, Business, Finance or a related discipline. A legal education or strong legal/compliance background is preferred.

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in in-house legal, compliance, data protection, business compliance, technology regulatory advisory, corporate governance, cross-border business support or international risk management roles.

• Prior experience supporting international operations of technology, internet, digital platform, AI-related, advertising technology, SaaS, enterprise technology or cross-border digital service businesses.

• Experience working in or closely with international technology companies, especially companies operating across China, Singapore, APAC, Europe and the United States.

• Strong working knowledge of international regulatory frameworks such as PDPA, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, DSA, cybersecurity and data protection laws, advertising and platform-related regulations, AI governance developments and other relevant international compliance requirements.

• Experience supporting startup or growth-stage company governance, including entity governance, board and shareholder documentation, authorization processes, external advisor coordination, fundraising support, investment documents or internal control processes.

• Experience supporting China-outbound business, China-based management or China-linked technology operations, including the ability to communicate effectively with Chinese-speaking business and management stakeholders.

• Demonstrated familiarity with European legal, regulatory or business environments, gained through education, exchange, training, professional experience or substantial project exposure.

• Professional working proficiency in Mandarin Chinese, English and French is required, as the role involves communication with China-based stakeholders, English-speaking international partners and European or French-speaking market stakeholders.

• Experience building or improving compliance frameworks, internal policies, risk assessment processes, audit mechanisms, contract governance systems, data governance controls, corporate governance processes or internal training programmes.

• Experience working with cross-functional teams, including founders, management, business, product, technology, finance, tax, legal, security and external advisors.

• Strong legal research, regulatory interpretation, risk analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to convert complex requirements into practical business actions.

• Strong drafting skills, including the ability to prepare policies, risk memos, regulatory updates, internal training materials, governance documents, board or management briefings and external-facing compliance materials.

• Open-minded, business-oriented, detail-driven and able to work independently in a fast-paced international and startup environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience serving as or supporting a Data Protection Officer, privacy lead, data compliance project owner or internal compliance programme owner.

• Experience with AI governance, data governance, digital platform compliance, privacy-by-design, product compliance or technology risk management.

• Experience with U.S., EU, APAC, Middle East or other multi-jurisdictional compliance matters.

• Experience managing external counsel and coordinating multi-jurisdictional legal, compliance or corporate governance projects.

• Prior experience in digital advertising, AI-related services, consumer technology, SaaS, platform governance, enterprise technology, investment support or cross-border technology operations.

• Familiarity with contract review, commercial compliance, employment-related documentation, entity governance, internal investigations, dispute-risk management or legal operations would be advantageous.

• Experience producing bilingual or multilingual compliance materials, regulatory updates, internal policies, training materials, governance reports or management briefings.
