Software Engineer
NEWBRIDGE ALLIANCE PTE. LTD.
We’re looking for a Software Engineer with robotics experience to help build the brains behind our clients robots. You’ll design, develop, and ship production-grade software that lets robots perceive, plan, and act reliably in the real world. If you love writing clean code and watching it move hardware, you’ll fit right in.
What You’ll Do
- Build core robotics software: Develop modules for perception, localization, navigation, motion planning, or controls in C++ and/or Python
- Integrate hardware + software: Interface with sensors like LiDAR, cameras, IMUs, and actuators/motor controllers via ROS2 or custom middleware
- Ship to production: Write robust, tested code that runs on real robots in real environments, not just sim
- Improve autonomy stack: Optimize algorithms for latency, compute, and reliability on edge devices like NVIDIA Jetson, x86, ARM
- Debug the hard stuff: Diagnose issues across the stack — from drivers to SLAM to fleet behavior — using logs, bag files, and on-robot testing
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with mechanical, electrical, and ML teams to bring new robot capabilities to life
- Simulation & testing: Build tools and tests in Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or similar to validate features before they hit hardware
What You’ll Bring
Must-Haves
- BS/MS in Computer Science, Robotics, EE, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong proficiency in C++ and/or Python for production systems
- Hands-on experience with ROS / ROS2 and robotics middleware
- Familiarity with core robotics concepts: kinematics, path planning, SLAM, sensor fusion, controls
- Experience working with real hardware — sensors, actuators, embedded systems
- Solid CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, multithreading, Linux
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with computer vision using OpenCV, PCL, or deep learning frameworks like PyTorch/TensorFlow
- Work with NVIDIA Jetson, CUDA, or other edge accelerators
- Exposure to behavior trees, task planning, or multi-robot systems
- Familiarity with CI/CD, Docker, Git, and modern dev workflows
- Background in manipulation, mobile robots, AMRs, or drones
