About the Role
We are partnering with a leading global technology organization that powers communication and engagement for billions of users worldwide. The Business Messaging team supports enterprises in connecting with their customers through large-scale messaging platforms and digital communication solutions.
We are seeking a strategic and analytical Data Scientist II to drive impactful data initiatives, support operational excellence, and influence business decisions through data-driven insights. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex business problems, working with large datasets, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Data Strategy & Business Impact
- Develop and execute data-driven strategies that influence operational performance and business outcomes.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data analysis and provide actionable recommendations.
Advanced Analytics & Modelling
- Design, develop, and maintain analytical models using large and complex datasets.
- Utilize SQL and big data technologies to uncover insights and support decision-making.
- Perform root-cause analysis to investigate operational issues and performance trends.
Reporting & Visualization
- Build and maintain dashboards, reporting frameworks, and KPI tracking systems.
- Translate complex datasets into clear visualizations and executive-ready insights.
Stakeholder Management
- Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate across operations, product, and business teams to align data initiatives with organizational goals.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive process optimization initiatives through analytics and automation.
- Promote best practices in data science, reporting, and AI-enabled workflows.
Requirements
Must-Have Skills
- 2–4 years of experience in data analytics, data science, or operational analytics.
- Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, query optimization, and data extraction from multiple sources.
- Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau or equivalent.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proven ability to turn data into compelling business stories and recommendations.
- Experience using AI tools to improve productivity, analysis, or decision-making.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Python or R for data analysis and automation.
- Familiarity with big data platforms such as Hive, Presto, or similar technologies.
- Background in customer operations, technical operations, shared services, or support environments.
- Exposure to KPI management, operational performance measurement, and process improvement initiatives.
- Project management experience is advantageous.
