Data Scientist II (Business Operations & Analytics)

Location: Singapore (Hybrid – 3 days in office)

Employment Type: 12-Month Contract (Renewable based on business needs and performance)

We are partnering with a leading global technology organization that powers communication and engagement for billions of users worldwide. The Business Messaging team supports enterprises in connecting with their customers through large-scale messaging platforms and digital communication solutions.

We are seeking a strategic and analytical Data Scientist II to drive impactful data initiatives, support operational excellence, and influence business decisions through data-driven insights. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex business problems, working with large datasets, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Data Strategy & Business Impact

  • Develop and execute data-driven strategies that influence operational performance and business outcomes.
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data analysis and provide actionable recommendations.

Advanced Analytics & Modelling

  • Design, develop, and maintain analytical models using large and complex datasets.
  • Utilize SQL and big data technologies to uncover insights and support decision-making.
  • Perform root-cause analysis to investigate operational issues and performance trends.

Reporting & Visualization

  • Build and maintain dashboards, reporting frameworks, and KPI tracking systems.
  • Translate complex datasets into clear visualizations and executive-ready insights.

Stakeholder Management

  • Present findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across operations, product, and business teams to align data initiatives with organizational goals.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive process optimization initiatives through analytics and automation.
  • Promote best practices in data science, reporting, and AI-enabled workflows.

Requirements

Must-Have Skills

  • 2–4 years of experience in data analytics, data science, or operational analytics.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, query optimization, and data extraction from multiple sources.
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven ability to turn data into compelling business stories and recommendations.
  • Experience using AI tools to improve productivity, analysis, or decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Python or R for data analysis and automation.
  • Familiarity with big data platforms such as Hive, Presto, or similar technologies.
  • Background in customer operations, technical operations, shared services, or support environments.
  • Exposure to KPI management, operational performance measurement, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Project management experience is advantageous.
