About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and hands-on Audio Technician / Sound Engineer to join our in-house production team at a live music venue. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality live sound for performances, ensuring smooth technical operations, and supporting artists throughout their shows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and dismantle audio equipment for live performances and events.

  • Mix Front of House (FOH) and stage monitor sound for live bands and performers.

  • Conduct soundchecks and work closely with musicians to achieve the best possible sound.

  • Monitor and adjust audio levels throughout performances.

  • Troubleshoot audio issues quickly and efficiently during rehearsals and live shows.

  • Maintain and organise microphones, DI boxes, stage monitors, wireless systems, cables, mixing consoles, and other audio equipment.

  • Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs to ensure equipment is in good working condition.

  • Assist with stage setup, changeovers, and general technical support for venue operations.

  • Coordinate with venue management and performers to ensure events run smoothly.

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe stage and FOH working environment.

Requirements

  • Experience in live sound reinforcement and audio system operation.

  • Familiarity with digital mixing consoles and professional live audio equipment.

  • Good understanding of signal flow, microphone techniques, stage monitoring, and audio troubleshooting.

  • Able to work independently and remain calm in a fast-paced live environment.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Proficient in spoken Mandarin to communicate effectively with Mandarin-speaking performers and to operate audio systems where software, documentation, or interfaces may be primarily in Chinese.

  • Physically fit and able to lift and move audio equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in live houses, music venues, bars, clubs, or event production.

  • Basic knowledge of stage lighting or audiovisual (AV) systems is an advantage.

  • Passion for live music and customer service.
