Key Responsibilities
- Conduct plant biotechnology experiments, including plant tissue culture and molecular biology procedures.
- Support gene editing, transformation, and protocol optimisation activities.
- Prepare, process, and analyse biological samples for downstream applications such as sequencing.
- Coordinate multiple laboratory experiments while ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
- Maintain accurate experimental records and documentation in accordance with laboratory requirements.
- Ensure laboratory equipment, consumables, and workspaces are well maintained and compliant with laboratory standards.
- Collaborate closely with research teams to troubleshoot challenges and contribute to project success.
Requirements
- Degree in Plant Biotechnology, Biomedical Science, Life Sciences, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical laboratory experience.
- Knowledge of molecular biology techniques and laboratory best practices.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory instruments such as PCR/qPCR systems, gel electrophoresis equipment, centrifuges, and microscopes will be advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to execute experimental protocols accurately.
- Well-organised, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a research environment.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
