We are looking for a Duty Engineer to join our team

Your Primary Role

Responsible for overseeing and ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of hotel facilities and equipment. Provide guests and colleagues with a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

  • Respond promptly to guest and staff requests regarding engineering or maintenance issues.

  • Monitor and operate key systems i.e. Fire Alarm System, Building Management System (BMS) and report irregularities.

  • Carry out troubleshooting and emergency repairs to minimize downtime and system failures.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations.

  • Maintain accurate documentation records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.

  • Supervise external/internal contractors and vendors during maintenance or repair works.

  • Support energy conservation initiatives and sustainability practices in the property.

  • Assist in training and guiding junior engineering team members.

  • Be on standby duty as rostered, handling urgent & emergency situations efficiently.

Requirements

  • Diploma/ITE Certificate in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in hotel engineering or a related field.

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.

  • Proven hands-on experience in troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with guests and team members.

  • Ability to work independently, under pressure, and respond to emergencies.

  • Able to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as rostered.
