BUILDING PAINTER

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Painter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint and protective coatings, and ensuring high-quality finishing work for residential, commercial, and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, work instructions, and project specifications to determine the scope of painting work.
• Inspect surfaces and assess the type and quantity of materials required.
• Prepare work areas by erecting scaffolding, covering fixtures, and protecting surrounding surfaces.
• Prepare walls and other surfaces by scraping, sanding, cleaning, and removing old paint.
• Fill cracks, holes, and surface imperfections using suitable materials such as plaster or filler.
• Mix paints, coatings, and other materials to achieve the required colour, texture, and finish.
• Apply paint, varnish, stains, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and other appropriate tools.
• Ensure all painting work meets quality standards and project specifications.
• Estimate material requirements and assist with cost calculations when required.
• Maintain painting tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Follow all workplace health and safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.
• Perform other painting-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Painter in commercial, industrial, or construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of painting materials, coatings, and application techniques.
• Ability to select, mix, and apply paints and finishes to achieve high-quality results.
• Skilled in using painting tools and equipment, including brushes, rollers, spray guns, and caulking guns.
• Experience working on scaffolding, ladders, and elevated work platforms.
• Good manual dexterity, attention to detail, and physical fitness.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to work beyond regular working hours when required.
• Willing to work on Saturdays, Sundays, and Public Holidays if operationally required.
• Willing to work rotating day and night shifts.
• Knowledge of workplace safety practices and compliance with health and safety regulations.
