Business Intelligence Analyst
Job Purpose
We are looking for a commercially focused and analytical Business Analysis Manager to support data-driven decision-making and improve overall business performance. This role will be responsible for generating actionable insights, enhancing operational effectiveness, analysing customer and market trends, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to support strategic business growth.
Key Responsibilities
1) Business Performance Management
- Analyse sales results, profitability, inventory levels, and operational performance to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
- Develop and maintain management dashboards and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Track business performance against budgets and recommend actions to improve results and support budget achievement.
- Prepare concise decision papers and presentations for senior management, turning complex analysis into clear recommendations and options.
- Support regular business review presentations for management.
2) Customer & Commercial Analytics
- Analyse customer buying patterns, purchasing behavior, and product usage trends to identify business opportunities and risk areas.
- Build customer segmentation models based on factors such as revenue contribution, specialty, purchase frequency, and profitability.
- Identify opportunities to improve customer retention, cross-selling, and account growth.
- Partner with Sales and Operations teams by providing customer insights and data backed recommendations.
- Conduct pricing, product, and customer profitability analysis to support commercial decisions.
3) Strategic Planning & Business Partnering
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities.
- Prepare business cases and financial models to assess new products, tenders, and investment opportunities.
- Work closely with Sales, Finance, Operations, and Regulatory teams to achieve business objectives.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to management to support growth and decision-making.
4) Data Management & Process Improvement
- Ensure business data integrity, accuracy, and governance across systems.
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting and improve business processes for greater efficiency.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in business analysis, commercial finance, business intelligence, or strategic planning, preferably within the medical device, healthcare or distribution industry.
- Proven experience in a Business Analysis role with strong stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI; experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft D365 is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
- Commercially driven with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights and recommendations.
