Junior Purchasing Manager

Key Responsibilities
Source and purchase raw materials, packaging materials, and indirect supplies.
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders in the ERP system.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Production Planning to ensure material availability.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
Source alternative suppliers to mitigate supply risks.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery or quality issues.
Work with QA to ensure purchased materials meet quality and food safety requirements.
Track market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and procurement procedures.
Prepare procurement reports, price comparisons, and purchasing analysis.
Support audits by maintaining accurate purchasing records and documentation.
Qualifications
Degree or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience
3 - 5 years of purchasing experience in food, flavour, fragrance, ingredients, FMCG, or manufacturing.
Experience purchasing raw materials and packaging materials in a manufacturing environment.
ERP experience (SAP preferred).
Skills
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Knowledge of procurement processes and inventory management.
Familiarity with food safety standards such as GMP, HACCP, or FSSC 22000.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
