Summary: You will be part of a team responsible for monitoring vessel performance for all group operated vessels to enhance operational efficiency through optimization of our vessel deployment.
Reports to: Operations Manager, Asia
Location: Singapore
Role and Responsibilities
· Improve voyage tool utilisation - ensure fleet vessel optimize voyage plans, execute plan accordingly and changes are reflected in a timely manner.
· Verifying that the vessel route is optimized using the correct parameters in voyage tool and identify potential savings with a more optimal route.
· Active engagement to reduce waiting time at port via monitoring and proactive follow-ups.
· Oversee weather routeing especially in heavy conditions, placing an emphasis on safety without forgoing commercial considerations.
· Daily monitoring of fleet vessels with a focus towards speed management, deviation and stoppages.
· Analyze and compare various data (distance, consumption, ECA routes etc.) between vessels in same services or trade region.
· Minimum ballast and trim optimization for long sea voyages·
· Assist Operations Manager and Head of Operations to digitalize workflow & implement uniform processes across hubs.
· Inculcate an energy savings mindset and behaviour amongst senior shipboard officers.
· Participation in initiatives and projects that enhance operational efficiency and lower company's carbon footprint.
Requirements
· Minimum 2 years’ of seafaring experience as Captain or Chief Officer.
· Possesses strong communication, maritime and analytical skills.
· Fast learner with the ability to adapt to IT systems and a shore-based work environment.
· Proficient in usage of weather-routing systems, voyage planning tools & on-board software.
· Broad understanding of Marine Operations & Ship Management related processes.
· Strong stakeholder management skills with a proactive and positive, “can-do” attitude.
· Proficiency in the English language, both verbal and written.
