About Finstock, Inc.
Finstock, Inc. builds AI-powered financial research, trading analytics, quantitative research, and market intelligence tools for experienced market users, analysts, research teams, and institutions.
About The Role
We are looking for a Finance Intern based in Singapore to support financial market research, Singapore equity market monitoring, data collection, report preparation, and analyst workflow coordination.
The intern will work remotely and report directly to Regional Analysts. This role is suitable for candidates who have strong academic performance, a genuine interest in financial markets, and the ability to follow structured research standards.
You will support research tasks related to Singapore's financial markets, SGX-listed companies, macroeconomic developments, industry updates, REITs, banks, capital markets activity, and market-moving events. Compared with a full analyst role, this internship has a narrower scope and is designed for learning, execution support, and research assistance under analyst supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor Singapore's stock market, SGX-listed companies, sectors, macroeconomic indicators, and market-moving news.
- Support Regional Analysts in preparing market updates, company summaries, sector notes, and research briefs.
- Collect, clean, organize, and maintain financial data from public sources, company filings, exchange disclosures, annual reports, quarterly reports, and market data platforms.
- Summarize financial statements, earnings updates, corporate announcements, industry developments, and regulatory or macroeconomic updates relevant to Singapore.
- Assist with basic financial analysis, including ratio analysis, valuation references, peer comparison, business model review, and sector benchmarking.
- Track companies and market developments across SGX Mainboard, Catalist, REITs, banks, financial institutions, and other relevant listed-company segments.
- Prepare charts, tables, dashboards, and supporting materials for analyst review.
- Help translate, summarize, or cross-check financial information in English, Chinese, and/or other relevant languages when required.
- Track key events such as earnings releases, shareholder meetings, dividend announcements, REIT distributions, policy updates, macroeconomic data releases, and corporate actions.
- Review research drafts for clarity, formatting, consistency, source accuracy, and factual support.
- Join regular check-ins through Microsoft Teams and provide progress updates to Regional Analysts.
- Follow internal research guidelines, confidentiality rules, data-handling standards, and professional communication expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Finance, Banking, Accounting, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of Singapore's financial markets, stock market structure, SGX-listed companies, sectors, and macroeconomic environment.
- Strong academic performance and willingness to learn in a fast-paced financial research environment.
- Ability to commit at least 20 hours per week for the 6-month internship period.
- Good written English communication skills.
- Chinese reading or writing ability is preferred, especially for cross-market research and company materials involving Chinese-language sources.
- Strong reading comprehension for company disclosures, financial news, annual reports, market updates, and local market materials.
- Comfortable working with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, and online research tools.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, responsible, and able to meet deadlines in a remote work setting.
- Able to work independently while following analyst instructions and research templates.
- Able to undertake a remote paid internship or internship-style contractor engagement in compliance with applicable laws and eligibility requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Third-year or final-year university students are preferred, but other qualified candidates with relevant finance knowledge may also be considered.
- Prior internship, project, club, competition, or coursework experience related to equity research, financial analysis, investment analysis, accounting, corporate finance, or securities markets.
- Familiarity with SGX, Mainboard, Catalist, REITs, listed-company announcements, annual reports, quarterly reports, and market data sources.
- Basic knowledge of valuation methods such as comparable company analysis, financial ratios, DCF concepts, or sector benchmarking.
- Experience using Excel for financial analysis, data cleaning, charting, or report preparation.
- Ability to read financial materials in both English and Chinese is strongly preferred.
- Interest in AI-assisted research tools, market intelligence systems, and financial technology is a plus.
What You Will Gain
- Direct exposure to regional analyst workflows and cross-market financial research.
- Practical experience in Singapore equity market monitoring, financial data organization, and research support.
- Remote work experience with a professional international team.
- A company email account and access to approved work tools, including Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, and ChatGPT Business or equivalent company-approved productivity tools, subject to internal security and usage policies.
- Performance and conversion review every 3 months. High-performing interns may be considered for a full-time role based on business needs, work quality, availability, and team fit.
- Opportunity to join quarterly company offsite activities in Hong Kong, subject to business schedule, travel eligibility, visa/documentation requirements, and company approval. Approved business-related travel, accommodation, and reasonable expenses will be covered by the company.
Important Role Boundaries
This is a finance research internship supporting analyst workflows.
The role does not require or permit the intern to:
- Provide personalized investment, legal, tax, accounting, or financial advice to users or clients.
- Recommend that any individual buy, sell, or hold a security based on personal circumstances.
- Execute trades or manage client funds.
- Handle client assets, deposits, or payments.
- Promise or imply investment returns, trading profits, or risk-free outcomes.
- Represent themselves as a licensed investment adviser, broker, portfolio manager, or analyst unless separately authorized by law and company policy.
- Pay any application fee, training fee, software fee, or onboarding fee.
