Business Planning & Controller, SEA

This position will manage routine finance operations and provide support to Fendi’s cost planning and reporting in SEA. He/She will also business partner from a business planning, reporting, and internal control perspective to emerging markets including Malaysia & Philippines. This will include business analysis and reporting to support decision making including provision of insights to store performance, identification of risks and opportunities for his/her markets
RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial and Operational
- Responsible for overall P&L management for Malaysia & Philippines, driving strategic initiatives to improve profitability and optimize costs
- Conduct thorough root cause analysis to understand the underlying factors contributing to P&L variances versus LY and Budget
- Lead, prepare and assist in the budgets & forecasts process from initial framing to presentation to the Regional Office
- Analyze monthly and weekly sales variance analysis - highlight trends, risks, opportunities
- Business partner and drive action plans with internal teams, driving operational/ profitability targets
- Review, report and analyze SEA&A (all markets) OPEX, work in close partnership with key stakeholders to navigate their expenses
- Review invoices and petty cash claims to ensure accuracy in allocation to respective cost centers and accounts code
- Prepare month-end accruals, review OPEX, and report on the variances on monthly basis
- Work closely with the Regional Finance team to optimize all Balance Sheets items, especially cash & working capital.
- Review monthly reconciliation of warehouse stocks
- Review of legal contracts mutually with Legal department, Landlord and Brand
Internal Control & Compliance
- In close collaboration with Internal control, participate and review Retail audits on yearly basis for each store and propose to Retail Manager an Action Plan if necessary.
- Ensure proper procedures are adhered to about cash, credit card (payment) processing, and store petty cash and sales float management
Projects
- Participate, lead or manage Ad-hoc projects which include but not limited to: Boutique operations handbook matters, liaise with internal (including retail audit) and external audits, wholesale to retail, multi country management, POS implementation
PROFILE
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or business-related discipline
- Chartered Accountant or ACCA will be added advantage
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in FP&A and Controlling
- Ability to work in matrix and diverse environment
- Excellent analytical and organization skills
- Good communications and interpersonal skills

- Experience in retail, wholesale or luxury fashion will be added advantage
