Operations and Governance Control Executive (1 year contract)

PURPOSE
Reporting within the Life Operations function, this role is responsible for supporting the implementation and oversight of Anti-Financial Crime (AFC) controls through quality assurance reviews, independent checking, and control monitoring. The role contributes to maintaining a robust control framework by ensuring adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and governance standards, while supporting the timely identification and escalation of risks.
JOB SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
AFC Quality Checking & Monitoring
- Perform checks and quality reviews on customer onboarding, screening, transaction monitoring, and due diligence activities.
- Verify that operational processes are completed accurately and in accordance with established procedures.
- Identify errors, exceptions, and control breaches for escalation and resolution.
Control Execution Support
- Conduct routine control checks and document review outcomes.
- Monitor adherence to AML/CFT procedures and operational guidelines.
- Support timely closure of findings and corrective actions.
Reporting & Data Validation
- Maintain monitoring logs and trackers.
- Support preparation of management reports and dashboards.
- Validate data accuracy and completeness before reporting.
Incident & Exception Management
- Assist in tracking AFC-related incidents and operational exceptions.
- Ensure follow-up actions are completed within agreed timelines.
- Escalate recurring issues or emerging risks to supervisors.
Governance & Compliance Support
- Support documentation reviews and record maintenance.
- Assist during audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory inspections.
- Work closely with Operations, Compliance, and Risk teams to support AFC initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
- 1–2 years of experience in Operations, AML/CFT, Financial Crime, Compliance, or related functions.
- Fresh graduates with relevant internships may be considered.
- Basic understanding of AML/CFT principles is advantageous.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and coordination skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools.
- Demonstrates strong technical competency in conducting quality and accuracy reviews.
- Applies effective planning and prioritisation to deliver assignments within agreed timelines.
- Identifies, assesses, and appropriately escalates findings and exceptions.
- Maintains sound knowledge of and adherence to operational and AFC procedures.
