Network Engineer (Infra & Applications)

Job Summary

The Network Engineer analyses, designs, installs, configures, maintains, and repairs network infrastructure and application components to ensure optimal network performance and user satisfaction. Provides guidance on network configurations and installations.

Responsibilities

• Manage network incident and change management processes to ensure minimal disruption and timely resolution
• Commission, decommission, and perform technology refreshes on network devices to maintain up-to-date infrastructure
• Collaborate with teams to facilitate problem-solving and enhance network operations
• Oversee network operations delivery in compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
• Apply firmware updates to network devices to ensure security and performance
• Enforce compliance of network infrastructure with company security policies
• Prepare and maintain asset inventories and update capacity reports to support network availability
• Update and maintain process and procedural documentation for network management
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned to support network functions

Required competencies and certifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business IT, or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in network administration and implementation
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills demonstrated by resolving network issues promptly
• Proficient troubleshooting skills applied to network infrastructure and devices
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with stakeholders and teams
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in managing network tasks

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification
• Knowledge of firewall technologies including high availability and virtual firewall concepts
• Experience with IP load balancers
• Familiarity with distribution and core switches
• Router configuration skills with emphasis on high availability setups
• LAN and WAN administration expertise
• Understanding of service business operations in high-tech environments from supplier, integrator, or operator perspectives
