SHEETMETAL ENGINEER

Develop 3D models and 2D drawings for sheet metal parts.
Apply GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
Ensure manufacturability with proper bend radii, reliefs, and K-factor considerations.
Align with ASTM, JIS, SAE standards for sheet thickness, mechanical properties, and coatings.
Define stamping, bending, welding, and laser cutting processes.
Collaborate with toolmakers on die design and fixture feasibility.
Conduct DFMEA/PFMEA for sheet metal parts.
Perform tolerance stack-up analysis.
Support NCR resolution and corrective actions for dimensional conflicts.
Conduct CMM inspections and dimensional verification.
Perform stress/corrosion resistance checks.
Ensure parts meet strength, corrosion resistance, and durability requirements.
Support FAI (First Article Inspection).
Work with procurement on supplier capability and cost optimization.
Provide technical clarifications to Production and QA teams.
Document BOMs, ECNs, and process sheets.

CAD proficiency (SolidWorks and Auto Desk Inventor).
Strong knowledge of sheet metal design rules.
Familiarity with stamping/welding tolerances and fabrication.
Hands-on experience with inspection tools (CMM, Calipers, gauges).
Ability to troubleshoot supplier discrepancies and machining issues.
Understanding of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
PowerPoint presentation and other software related to drawings and management system.
Familiarity with international material standards (ASTM, JIS, SAE)
Strong knowledge of sheet metal design rules (bend radius, K-factor, reliefs)
