Job Description

  • Develop 3D models and 2D drawings for sheet metal parts.
  • Apply GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Ensure manufacturability with proper bend radii, reliefs, and K-factor considerations.
  • Align with ASTM, JIS, SAE standards for sheet thickness, mechanical properties, and coatings.
  • Define stamping, bending, welding, and laser cutting processes.
  • Collaborate with toolmakers on die design and fixture feasibility.
  • Conduct DFMEA/PFMEA for sheet metal parts.
  • Perform tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Support NCR resolution and corrective actions for dimensional conflicts.
  • Conduct CMM inspections and dimensional verification.
  • Perform stress/corrosion resistance checks.
  • Ensure parts meet strength, corrosion resistance, and durability requirements.
  • Support FAI (First Article Inspection).
  • Work with procurement on supplier capability and cost optimization.
  • Provide technical clarifications to Production and QA teams.
  • Document BOMs, ECNs, and process sheets.

Additional Information

  • CAD proficiency (SolidWorks and Auto Desk Inventor).
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal design rules.
  • Familiarity with stamping/welding tolerances and fabrication.
  • Hands-on experience with inspection tools (CMM, Calipers, gauges).
  • Ability to troubleshoot supplier discrepancies and machining issues.
  • Understanding of GD&T and tolerance analysis.
  • PowerPoint presentation and other software related to drawings and management system.
  • Familiarity with international material standards (ASTM, JIS, SAE)
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal design rules (bend radius, K-factor, reliefs)
