Position Summary
The Commercial Director is responsible for leading and driving the commercial strategy, business growth, revenue generation, and profitability of the Singapore branch. The role oversees business development, contract negotiations, and market expansion initiatives while ensuring alignment with the company's regional and global objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy and Business Growth
· Develop and execute the commercial strategy for the Singapore branch to achieve revenue and profitability targets.
· Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and strategic partnerships to expand market presence.
· Establish annual business plans.
· Monitor market conditions, competitor activities, and customer needs to support strategic decision-making.
Business Development
· Lead and manage the business development teams to achieve targets.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders.
· Drive customer acquisition and retention initiatives.
· Oversee major bids, tenders, and contract negotiations.
Financial Performance
· Take ownership of branch revenue, margins, and profitability.
· Develop pricing strategies to maximize commercial performance while maintaining competitiveness.
· Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts and implement corrective actions where necessary.
· Ensure effective management of commercial risks and opportunities.
Leadership and Team Management
· Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities for the commercial team.
· Establish performance objectives and conduct regular performance reviews.
· Foster a high-performance and collaborative culture across departments.
· Work closely with operations, finance, legal, and project teams to ensure business objectives are achieved.
Customer and Stakeholder Management
· Serve as the primary commercial contact for strategic customers and partners.
· Strengthen customer relationships and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
· Represent the Singapore branch in industry events, trade associations, and networking activities.
Governance and Compliance
· Ensure all commercial activities comply with company policies, local regulations, and legal requirements.
· Manage contractual obligations and commercial risks effectively.
· Support corporate governance and reporting requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline.
· MSc or relevant postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
· Large scale airport project and commercial experience.
· Large scale hospital/medical institution project management and commercial experience.
· Strong understanding of contract management, business negotiations, and International multicultural adaptive
· Experience leading cross-functional and multicultural teams.
