Business Analyst – Trade Finance (Bank Guarantees)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with strong expertise in Trade Finance, specifically Bank Guarantees, to support the delivery of strategic technology initiatives within a leading financial institution.

The ideal candidate will bridge business and technology teams, gather and analyze requirements, define functional solutions, support system implementation, and ensure successful project delivery across the Trade Finance domain.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced banking environment and has hands-on experience with Trade Finance systems and Agile project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

•⁠ ⁠Engage business stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements.

•⁠ ⁠Map existing business processes and recommend optimized future-state workflows.

•⁠ ⁠Prepare Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Requirement Documents (FRD), user stories, and process documentation.

•⁠ ⁠Work closely with development teams to translate business requirements into functional solutions.

•⁠ ⁠Support system enhancements related to Bank Guarantees and Trade Finance products.

•⁠ ⁠Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), System Integration Testing (SIT), defect management, and production implementation.

•⁠ ⁠Manage project delivery, timelines, risks, and stakeholder communications.

•⁠ ⁠Collaborate with Operations, Product, Compliance, Risk, and Technology teams throughout the project lifecycle.

•⁠ ⁠Ensure solutions comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

•⁠ ⁠Support Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and daily stand-ups.

Requirements

•⁠ ⁠Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science or related discipline.

•⁠ ⁠5+ years of Business Analysis experience within Banking or Financial Services.

•⁠ ⁠Strong knowledge of Trade Finance products, especially:

* Bank Guarantees

* Standby Letters of Credit (SBLC)

* Trade Finance Operations

•⁠ ⁠Experience preparing BRDs, FRDs, process flows and functional specifications.

•⁠ ⁠Good understanding of:

  • SWIFT messaging
  • ICC URDG 758
  • UCP 600

•⁠ ⁠Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

•⁠ ⁠Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Visio or similar tools.

•⁠ ⁠Basic SQL knowledge is advantageous.

•⁠ ⁠Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

•⁠ ⁠Experience with Trade Finance platforms such as Finastra, Temenos or similar systems.

•⁠ ⁠Professional certifications such as CDCS or CSDG will be an advantage.
